Welcome back! We’re in the middle of looking at the second Pillar of Prosperity, which is Definition. So far we’ve worked on two questions to build and strengthen this pillar: Who am I? and What is my purpose? We’ve explored Truth Principles to support our work around these questions.

Are you ready for the BIG question, the one that truly brings the strength to Pillar Number 2? That question is: What is the ESSENCE of a prosperous and abundant life for me?

Here’s an example of essence versus goal. We know a professional at a large corporation who was seeking recognition in his career. His manager gave him the opportunity, as a reward for his good work, to present project findings to the Executive Development Team at their annual meeting. The problem? This professional was petrified of speaking in public, and said, “If this is the reward I get, you can bet this is the last time I’ll do a good job for this company!” Obviously the essence of what this professional wanted was quite different from the reality of what he received.

Essence discovery is actually a step above goal setting, in that, once you identify your goals, you can then do an essence discovery around them. For example, when we lived in a condo and wanted to move to a new home, we created an essence list defining what was important to us. (This is so important, because otherwise, you are always chasing after someone else’s dreams.) What we realized was that we were able to create the essence of what we wanted right there in the space we were living! Once you release the specifics, and move to the essence, you open yourself up to receive incredible abundance in amazing ways.

No matter what life throws at us, we can realize that we are not defined by our circumstances. Rather, we define our circumstances by how we chose to move through them – and if we make our essence to always be stretching toward the light, we can know we are safely connected to Divine Substance, and we have access to all we ever need, whenever we need it. Standing in this Truth gives us the consciousness of prosperity and abundance in everything we do.

We are in the process of exploring the Four Pillars that support a strong Prosperity Consciousness, grounded in Truth Principles. We’ve covered the First Pillar, Demolition, in some detail. Last week, we began taking a look at the Second Pillar of Prosperity, Definition. We’ve discussed the first question, which is: Who am I? The answer is that you are God, expressing Godness as you! And we shared ways for you to begin becoming acutely aware of how your thoughts support that reality.

That brings us to the second question: What is my purpose?

People go through tons of workshops and therapists to figure this one out – but in reality, there is only one answer, and it is the same for all of us! Take a deep breath, because this is really important!

Your purpose is to express your Christ nature to the fullest extent you are able, by using your talents and gifts for the good of the world. Remember this: There is no one in the whole world that can do what you do, the way you do it!

We invite you to go back and read that last paragraph again. Go ahead, we’ll wait for you! You might even want to read it again, out loud!

Katherine Graham, former President of Washington Post, said, “To do what you love and know that it matters – what could be more wonderful?” When you living your purpose, you know it! It doesn’t mean you won’t experience problems, challenges, frustrations. It means you know you have within you everything you need in order to move through them, growing in the process.

So, this week your adventure is to spend some time becoming aware of your gifts. What brings you joy? What do people compliment you about? What is it that you would do even if you were never paid a penny for it, just because you enjoy it so much?

Here are a few affirmations you can use to help you reinforce the incredible gifts and talents you have been given, to share with the world:

  • I am God expressing at the point of me, and I allow myself to nurture my gifts, appreciating the many talents I possess.
  • I am willing to be of service to God and others through my gifts, and know that people are abundantly blessed by what I do.
  • I deserve a rewarding, creative life, and I demonstrate my gifts to claim that life.
  • I am God expressing at the point of me, I have a constant flow of new and interesting Divine Ideas that allow me to develop and share my gifts.

Repeat these affirmations at least five times a day, and reflect on them as you go into meditation. Then journal around what comes to you following meditation. You will discover you are acutely aware of your gifts, as well as ways to use them for good. And your prosperity consciousness will be expanding every day!

Next week, we will explore that BIG question that comes with Definition: What is the essence of a prosperous and abundant life for me?

So far, we have worked on quite a Spiritual Demolition, preparing ourselves for an incredible flow of prosperity and abundance in all areas of our life. There is just one final area to institute a demolition: the Spiritual arena of our life.

This sounds a bit strange to a lot of people. Why would we need to demolish anything spiritual? Here’s the question we invite you to consider: What are you putting your faith in? Is there any embedded theology that is creating a roadblock in your spiritual growth and evolvement? Anything that even hints at a separation between us and God needs to be demolished, with great joy! And there is absolutely, positively no substitute for time spent in the Silence, going to Headquarters! Time spent in the Silence, in meditation, will reap amazing benefits in so many areas of your life.

We know – everyone is so busy already, that it becomes a real challenge to find time to create any type of regular spiritual practice of meditation. So, here’s your adventure for this week: Discover ways to creatively find time to spend in the Silence. Here are some examples:

  • Schedule it as a meeting and write it in your calendar or put it in your PDA or Blackberry. Just write: Meeting at Headquarters!
  • Transform waiting time into meditation time! Carry a meditative affirmation with you. When waiting in the doctor’s office, grocery line, lobby, meeting start, traffic light, etc., focus on your breathing and repeat the affirmation over and over. You don’t even need to close your eyes!
  • Try out new types of meditations, such as an eating meditation, walking meditation, writing meditation, art meditation. If you need resources to help you, just call us!
  • Start with a 5-minute/day commitment, and gently add time each week.

As we take a deeper look into the principles of having and maintaining a prosperity consciousness, it becomes so apparent that it is impossible to solve financial problems with money. We must go deeper, and totally demolish any and all barriers, so the problems will never arise again.

This week, create your own personal Demolition Party … and experience Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Demolition. This will pave the way for a fresh, gigantic leap in your consciousness – and begin the foundation for Jesus the Christ promised: you to have life, and have it more abundantly!
