Regularly Scheduled Weekly Events:

Every Monday ~ Integrative Healing Experience, Sanctuary
From 7:00-8:15 p.m., we hold our Sacred Healing Circle. Following that, for those who are interested, we will have certified healers available to provide one-on-one healing therapy. Contact Rev. Vi Schonhardt, our Integrative Healing Ministry Director, for more information. Love Offering.

Every Wednesday, 12:00 noon, Fillmore Chapel ~ Noon Meditation and Prayer Service
Every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. ~ Synchronicity Choir Rehearsal, Sanctuary

First Saturday of each month: Serve lunch at Durham Rescue Mission
Our Winter Weather Policy: While it is very rare, the weather occasionally has an impact on our schedule! If we need to cancel a service or class due to weather, we will have a message posted on our office phone (471-3504). Information will also be submitted to all three major television news stations.

Anyone for Chess?
USLC has started its first "informal and fun" chess club. Beginners and advanced players are all welcome! The group meets on Sundays at 12:30, so contact Avery Henderson or Eric Donaldson if you are interested.

Monday, January 25 ~ One-on-one counseling and healing sessions with David Hiller, featuring his Psych-K techniques. (By appointment only, $65/hour; contact USLC office to schedue your appointment)

Saturday, February 13: Five Languages of Love and Couples Recommitment Ceremony, followed by a potluck lunch, 10:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m., plus lunch. This is a great class for any couples who want to strengthen and recommit to their relationship. Rev. Bil & Cher will be using Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages as the basis for the content, combining it with Spiritual Truth Principles. Included is a special instrument to identify your preferred language of love, and how to use that information to enhnce a relationship. Class will conclude with a very special recommitment ceremony, followed by a potluck lunch together. Love offering.

Wednesdays, Feb. 3, 10, 24, Mar. 3, 10 ~ Metaphysics 2, Part 2, 7-9 pm (led by Revs. Bil & Cher) NOTE DATE CHANGE!
This powerful series is the final of four classes, focusing on Metaphysics as interpreted by Unity.

In July 2006 Rev. Will Bowen (Unity minister in Kansas City) suggested his congregation use purple bracelets to monitor their success at eradicating complaining from their lives. His idea exploded around the world and more than 6 million purple Complaint Free bracelets have been sent to people in over 106 countries.

Special announcement about the Justin Dufur Memorial YOU Scholarship:

This past weekend Justin Dufur, a 2007 YOU graduate from Unity Church of Raleigh was killed in an automobile accident."Dufur" will be greatly missed and remembered with great love.  In his memory and in honor of his spirit, a Justin Dufur YOU Memorial Scholarship is being created.

Justin was an active member of the Youth of Unity (YOU) at Unity Church of Raleigh and enthusiastically attended youth rallies with the program. Several of our YOU-ers knew him well, and worked with him in the region. This scholarship will be administrated by UMMAS (Unity Ministers of the Mid Atlantic Region) and will provide monies for needy YOU-ers to attend their beloved rallies. How many scholarships we can award will depend on how generous we are.

If you would like to donate to this scholarship fund, please make your checks out to UMMAS and write in the memo line, "Justin Dufur Memorial

    • First Saturday each month ~ Serve lunch to male residents;
    • Food & Clothing Drive (January, April, August, & December) ~ bring non-perishable food items, toiletries, and gently-used clothing to the Education Center by the 25th of the month, and place them in the designated bins.
  • Habitat for Humanity – (Our Youth's Project)
    • Aluminum Can Collection: In conjunction with The Habitat for Humanity's Youth United Project, we are participating in this collection. Bring aluminum cans to the Education Center (ask your friends and family to help).

2009 Parliament of World Religions ~ For the first time in history, 10 major New Thought organizations will join together to represent the New Thought movement at the world's largest interreligious gathering—the Parliament of the World's Religions (Parliament). This year's event will be held in Melbourne, Australia, Dec. 3-9, 2009. By attending as a united movement, leaders plan to convey New Thought perspectives on many of the critical social and environmental issues being probed at this year's Parliament and to present a unified identity on the international stage. The Annual Report Form for Churches is now available online for the year ending December 2009. Please complete the form and return it to the Association offices by mail, FAX or email by January 31, 2010, to be included in the Association's annual report to the IRS. You can find the report at www.unity.org select Ministries & Leaders. In the box labeled Ministry Support, click on Ministry Operations, then scroll down until you see the link to the form.
